Transatlantic production duo The DFA are much sought-after remixers, as this second collection of eight lengthy rejigs shows. Remixes are always tricky beasts, and have to try very hard to be necessary and not just come over as the self-regarding tinkerings of musicians with too much time on their hands.

Some of the woozy, monotonous trudge-outs here really are redundant, but in other places the re-interpretations add something that wasn't there before. The familiar 'She Wants To Move' by N*E*R*D and 'Slide In' by Goldfrapp are almost unrecognisable, moody and sparse and jerky.
