NEW YORK (Billboard) - John "Beatz" Holohan, drummer for Long Island, N.Y. rock band Bayside, died Monday after an auto accident in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was 31.

Several other members of the band and crew were also hospitalized after their tour van hit a patch of ice on the highway and flipped over. The band was en route to Salt Lake City as part of its Never Sleep Again tour with Hawthorne Heights, Silverstein and Aiden.

According to a label spokesperson for the band's Victory Records label, bassist Nick Ghanbarian and drum tech Dan Marino remain in the hospital with broken backs, awaiting surgery. Singer Anthony Raneri, guitarist Jack O'Shea and the singer's cousin Will Raneri were all released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries.

Upcoming shows in Boise, Idaho, Seattle and Portland, Ore., have been canceled. For the remaining dates in San Francisco and Los Angeles, members of the other bands have volunteered to sell Bayside merchandise in order to raise money for the John Holohan Bayside Memorial Fund.

Holohan is survived by his wife, Amy Marten, his parents and his two brothers.
