Jodie Foster takes on another Panic Room style role as stressed out mum Kyle Pratt who is desperately trying to save her young daughter (Marlene Lawston). We meet the pair as they are preparing to get a flights from Germany to the US to bury Kyle's husband who died after falling off their building. But when her daughter goes missing during the flight, the efficient pilot (Sean Bean) and affable air marshal inform Kyle the little girl died with her father. Kyle refuses to believe them and as she desperately searches for her child she becomes sure she's been kidnapped. Is the grieving woman losing her mind? Are supernatural forces involved? Or is there something altogether more sinister at work?

Despite it's flaws, Flightplan is lots of fun. The way to enjoy it is to approach it like flying: don't think about it too much and you'll have a smooth trip.
