Scott Walker is the archetypal reclusive, enigmatic pop icon. After some record company bother in 1984 Julian Cope helped him to get 'Climate of Hunter' onto the shelves now it's been remastered and rereleased. It's a challenging listen (short as it is, comprising only seven tracks), with its often atonal compositions and strange surreal twists and turns, but Walker's fulsome vocals are always soothing regardless of how bonkers the music itself becomes. His voice is the aural equivalent of luxury melted chocolate, and sounds even better with the remastering. A fascinating rediscovery.
